PAC OS2 OnStar Interface for Class 2 non-Bose vehicles. The OS-2 uses a Data Link Controller chip (DLC) that is specifically designed for connecting to GM's Class 2 data bus.

  • Safe & Sound Class 2 circuitry will not disable vehicle data bus even if interface loses power.
  • When OnStar is active, the OS-2 will keep OnStar on even when the key is removed and the door is opened. OnStar will turn off when the call is complete.
  • OnStar active LED and Ignition on LED for visual indication.
  • Provides +12v switched accessory output. No more searching for switched +12v in fuse box or kickpanel.
  • Smart Sense Mute output to either mute the aftermarket radio or to turn it off when OnStar is active.
  • Retains door chimes when used with optional CM1 chime module.
  • New radio will operate with the vehicle RAP (Retained Accessory Power) system. The radio stays on after the key is turned off and stays on for aproximately 10 minutes or until a door is opened.

3. If you are not retaining the BoseĀ® amplifier, use this OS-2 interface instead of OS-2Bose interface. CM1 is also required if Bose amp is bypassed.

Note 2:
If you take your vehicle to the GM dealer to have it upgraded with a new software update, please remove this product prior to going to the GM Dealer. The reason is that the product does not go into offline mode which will show as an error to the scan tool the dealer uses.

Bulletin: Aftermarket radio used with either OS-2, OS-2BOSE or C2R-GM24 and AAI-GM24

Note to customers or customer's installer: When programming or re-flashing a vehicle's Body Control Module (BCM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM), the factory fuse that powers the factory radio harness must be pulled from the vehicle fuse box before performing the reprogramming. Failure to discount power to or remove the new aftermarket radio and it's associated interface adapter OS-2, OS-2 BOSE or C2R-GM24 may cause programming errors and or render the vehicle's computer inoperative.

Current products that are affected are: OS-2 with revision 1.2.11or lower, OS-2BOSE with revision 1.3.11 or lower, C2R-GM24 with revision 1.2.4 or lower and AAI-GM24 with revision 1.1.5 or lower..

Note to GM dealership: If this procedure is not done, the BCM, PCM or other computer modules will become PERMANENTLY inoperative when trying to program or re-flash new firmware using the TECH2. Replacing the module will be required, which will result in unnecessary costs to you and the owner of the vehicle.
